Apex Learning is the leading provider of digital curriculum for secondary education to the nation's school districts. We are headquartered in Seattle, WA and looking for a talented Account Executive to join our team based remotely out of the West Region.  Our new Account Executive will be responsible for the sale of digital curriculum solutions to new customers in a defined territory to achieve an annual sales target. The Account Executive position is primarily a field based sales role.


This position will be responsible for the California territory, so our new Account Executive can be located anywhere in the state of CA. This is a great opportunity for an aggressive and hungry sales person looking to grow with an established company!



  • Work with the New Partnerships Sales Manager to develop an annual plan to maximize sales to accounts in the assigned territory.
  • Create high-level awareness for Apex Learning and the company’s digital curriculum solutions with public school districts.
  • Execute email and phone campaigns to identify qualified prospects in the territory.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers at the highest levels within school districts.
  • Make effective use of marketing and sales tools to move the sales process from awareness to interest to closed business.
  • Drive to meet or exceed the annual sales target.
  • Become an expert on Apex Learning digital curriculum solutions.
  • Deliver effective online and onsite presentations and demonstrations of Apex Learning digital curriculum solutions.
  • Develop and maintain current knowledge of the market and competitive environment overall and of the assigned territory in particular.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor's Degree from four-year college or university.
  • 5+ years successful sales experience.
  • Confident demeanor and demonstrated experience with calling on and meeting with high level individuals.
  • A “hunter” attitude (willingness to consistently cold call and get in front of people).
  • Ability to plan and carry out responsibilities with minimal direction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating and negotiating with school district decision makers.
  • Motivated, goal oriented, persistent, and a skilled negotiator who works well in a team environment.
  • Extremely organized and high level of initiative.
  • Strong experience with MS Office and CRM tools preferred.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to pass a Social Security Administration E-Verify check for U.S. work authorization.
