Apex Learning is the leading provider of digital curriculum for secondary education to the nation's school districts. The company's comprehensive, standards-based online courses help schools successfully engage all students in rigorous coursework and prepare them for high school graduation and beyond. Districts are successfully using Apex Learning digital curriculum to meet needs ranging from credit recovery to original credit, from building foundational skills to creating opportunities for advanced coursework, and from distance learning to classroom-based programs.

We are headquartered in Seattle, WA and looking for a talented Strategic Account Executive to join our team remotely.  The Strategic Account Executive is responsible for achieving an annual goal for the advancement and sale of Apex Learning digital curriculum solutions to strategic accounts in large key school districts.

 

This position reports directly to the National Director of Sales!

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute an annual plan to target strategic business opportunities with large public school districts across the country
  • Create strong awareness for Apex Learning and the company’s digital curriculum solutions aligned to district goals and objectives
  • Implement aggressive prospecting activities to generate business opportunities with targeted accounts
  • Possess strong planning and organizational skills and identify key progress metrics that include business health and opportunity mapping processes
  • Identify the needs of prospects and build strong value propositions
  • Establish and build strong relationships with high-level contacts, including key decision makers and influencers
  • Create and deliver compelling and effective presentations
  • Demonstrate a high-level knowledge of the education industry and maintain awareness of the marketplace, staying current on funding, trends, and legislation affecting the market
  • Meet or exceed an annual sales target
  • Overnight travel required
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university Master’s degree preferred
  • 10+ years successful field sales experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and oral
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Competitive, driven to succeed and win
  • Extensive travel expected up to 70%
  • Home-office based employee
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Ability to pass a Social Security Administration E-Verify check for U.S. work authorization.
